ABSTRACT:
A substrate for an ink jet recording head comprises a support member, an electro-thermal converter, disposed on the support member, having a heat generating resistive layer and a pair of electrodes connected to said heat generating resistive layer, and a glaze layer on the support member underneath the electro-thermal converter. The glaze layer is omitted from between a heat generating portion provided by the resistive layer between a gap in the electrodes so that the heat generated by such heat generating portion can be properly dissipated.
