ABSTRACT:
A woven, drapable, formable graphite fabric (10) comprising essentially graphite warp multifilament elements (11) and fill multifilament elements (12), wherein an electrically conductive filament (13) is wrapped around or intertwined with the warp elements (11) and fill elements (12) prior to weaving the elements into a fabric. The conductive filament (13) has an electrical conductivity greater than the conductivity of graphite, the conductive filament (13) typically being a metallic material such as aluminum.
