A crossbar is secured with low friction to the head of the uppermost hydraulic cylinder, is swivelable through at least 90.degree. and has a free end. A seat has a backrest being pivotably connected to the free end of the crossbar, for lowering and raising the seat telescopingly and swiveling the seat out of the bathtub.
