DESCRIPTION:

BRIEF SUMMARY
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to dihalopropene compounds, their use and intermediates for their production.

BACKGROUND ART

As disclosed in JP-A 49-1526/1974, for example, it is well known that some kinds of propene compounds can be used as active ingredients of insecticides.
In view of their insecticidal/acaricidal activity, however, it cannot always be said that these compounds are satisfactorily effective for the control of noxious insects, mites and ticks.

DISCLOSURE OF INVENTION

The present inventors have intensively studied to find a compound having excellent insecticidal/acaricidal activity. As a result, they have found that particular dihalopropene compounds have satisfactory insecticidal/acaricidal activity for the control of noxious insects, mites and ticks, thereby completing the present invention.
That is, the present invention provides dihalopropene compounds of the general formula: ##STR2## (hereinafter referred to as the present compound(s)) and insecticidal/acaricidal agents containing them active ingredients, atom or group selected from the class consisting of: -C.sub.6 alkenyloxy; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyloxy; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyloxy; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyloxy; C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylthio; C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkylthio; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenylthio; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenylthio; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynylthio; C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynylthio; C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkanoyloxy optionally substituted with halogen; C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkanoylamino optionally substituted with halogen; (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy)carbonyl; (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkoxy)-carbonyl; (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyloxy)carbonyl; (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyloxy)carbonyl; (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyloxy)carbonyl; (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyloxy)carbonyl; cyano; nitro; hydroxyl; amino substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyl; and carbamoyl substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyl; ##STR3## wherein R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 are each independently hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 haloalkyl, haloalkyl, -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 alkanoyl optionally substituted with halogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy)carbonyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkoxy)carbonyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyloxy)carbonyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyloxy)carbonyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyloxy)carbonyl, (C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyloxy)carbonyl, cyano, nitro, or carbamoyl substituted with C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 haloalkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkenyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkynyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 haloalkynyl, -C.sub.3 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 haloalkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 haloalkoxy, nitro or cyano; C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl and t is an integer of 0 to 2; ##STR4## wherein R.sup.15, R.sup.16, R.sup.17, R.sup.18, R.sup.19, R.sup.20, R.sup.21, R.sup.22, R.sup.23 and R.sup.24 are each independently hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or trifluoromethyl, j is an integer of 0 to 5, and k and l are each independently an integer of 0 to 2; C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl.
The present invention further provides compounds of the general formula: ##STR5## which are useful as intermediates for the production of some of the present compounds, wherein R.sup.33 is P.sup.1 or P.sup.2 of the general formula: ##STR6## in which R.sup.34 and R.sup.35 are each independently C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl or C.sub.2 -C.sub.3 haloalkyl, -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 haloalkyl, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkoxy)carbonyl or cyano, haloalkyl, alkyl; and
The present invention further provides compounds of the general formula: ##STR7## which are useful as intermediates for the production of some of the present compounds, wherein R.sup.40 and R.sup.41 are each independently halogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.
