ABSTRACT:
A process for the hydrogenation of C.sub.4 to C.sub.12 nitriles using a Raney cobalt catalyst promoted with chromium in which the catalyst activity is maintained by the addition of water. The process is particularly attractive to produce diamines by the hydrogenation of dinitriles.
