ABSTRACT:
A liquid crystal display driver has a 1/4-duty binary-voltage driving system. This driving system generates at least four separate common signals and at least eleven separate segment signals. Although the duty cycle is 1/4. V.sub.on /V.sub.off ratio of the effective value is greater than 1.7. This is accomplished by using four common electrodes and seven segment electrode per each individual pattern generator.
