ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of a cyclic ether ketone of the general formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 denote hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, m and n denote integers from 1 to 5, in which a cyclic ether aldehyde of the general formula I ##STR2## in which have R.sup.1, R.sup.2, m and n have the above meanings, is reacted with an oxygen-containing gas in the presence of a solid or supported catalyst containing copper and/or manganese, at temperatures of from 50.degree. to 300.degree. C. and pressures of from 0.01 to 10 bar.
