Naphthalene derivative of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen atom or a lower alkoxycarbonyl and R.sup.2 is a lower alkoxycarbonyl, or R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are combined together to form a group of the formula: ##STR2## each of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is a lower alkoxy, or one of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is hydrogen atom and the other is a lower alkoxy, and
