ABSTRACT:
A process for stabilizing manganese ions in aqueous solutions is disclosed. The process comprises adding to an aqueous solution containing manganese ions a polymer or copolymer of unsaturated carboxylic compounds such as acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, polyacrylic acid and maleic anhydride and an orthophosphate. The ratio of polymer to orthophosphate is preferably about 2 to 1.
