ABSTRACT:
Novel polyimides and molding compositions are prepared from tricyclo[6.4.0.0.sup.2,7 ]dodecane-1,8,2,7-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride. Also a novel dianhydride-,tricyclo[6.4.0.0.sup.2,7 ]dodecane-1,8,2,7-tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride is prepared by a novel photodimerization of 1-cyclohexene-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride. The polyimides are useful as engineering plastics.
