ABSTRACT:
A microwave energy concentrating collector having a concave paraboloid reflector surface supported on a plurality of shaped supports, said supports being parabollically shaped on the top edge and extending radially from a circle near the axis of revolution of the paraboloid to its periphery, and arranged to coact with a reference means. The reference means may, in some embodiments, be equidistant from the central axis. In others, it may be a radially extending reference.
The reference means insures accurate placement of reflector components for high accuracy focusing after assembly. It may be an indentation on the bottom edge of the supports coacting with an abutment, or it may be a vertical edge of the support coacting with an abutment. In other embodiments, the abutment may be an overhead template having a bottom edge which is parabolic in shape, said template being accurately located with respect to a horizontal reference so as to form an abutment for the parabolic shaped support. The template may also be an adjustable flexible piece installed on the top edge of said support.
