ABSTRACT:
Adhesion between extruded polyethylene film and a substrate consisting of paper or paper lined metal foil is improved when the substrate and film are pressed together by passing through rollers which also cool the film to below its softening temperature, wherein at least one of said rolls which is brought into contact with the polyethylene coating is moistened on its rolling surface with a liquid having a critical surface tension below 73 dyne/cm, a boiling point below 100.degree. C and consisting of a mixture of water and between 10% and 50% ethyl alcohol.
