ABSTRACT:
A control system includes preprocessing circuitry which converts sensed input signals to a plurality of names. A processing unit which is controlled by a fixed, prestored, program combines the input names with prestored control words from an application logic table to produce output names which are indicative of a control action for the purpose of controlling the process. Postprocessing circuitry converts the output names to signals for controlling the process.
