ABSTRACT:
A fluorine-modified silicon compound having a polymerization degree of from 1 to 400 and containing at least one siloxane unit represented by formula (1): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents an aliphatic straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or an alicyclic hydrocarbon group having 5 to 10 carbon atoms or an aromatic hydrocarbon compound having 6 to 10 carbon atoms; and m represents 0 or an integer of from 1 to 10; a process for preparing the same; and a cosmetic containing the same are disclosed. The fluorine-modified silicone derivative exhibits high water- and oil-repellency to provide cosmetics which wear long and have a good feel on use.
