A device for imaging and removing obstructions from blood vessels and the like having a flexible tubular housing dimensioned for insertion within a blood vessel; a fiberoptic bundle adapted to conduct laser beams to an obstruction for the destruction of portions thereof; and an ultrasound portion adapted to generate ultrasonic waves processable to create an image of an obstruction.
