ABSTRACT:
A marine propulsion device comprising a housing adapted to be mounted on the transom of a boat and adapted to rotatably support a propeller, a drive shaft rotatably supported by the housing and adapted to be drivingly connected to the propeller, a bevel gear supported in coaxial relation to the drive shaft for rotation relative thereto, a clutch element fixed to the bevel gear for common rotation therewith, a bearing located between the bevel gear and the housing, and a bearing located between the clutch element and the drive shaft.
