ABSTRACT:
An electron-accepting compound represented by the formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R represents a hydrogen atom or --B(Mes).sub.2 and Mes represents a mesityl group.
A method for preparing an electron-accepting compound represented by the above-described formula (I), which comprises condensing a benzophenone derivative represented by the following formula (II) with malononitride, ##STR2## wherein R and Mes have the same meanings as defined for the formula (I).
