ABSTRACT:
This invention is a group of prostaglandin-like compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein m is 0, 1, 2, or 3 and n is 2, 3, 4, or 5, wherein X and Y are --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or X is cis-CH.dbd.CH-- and Y is --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or cis--CH.dbd.CH--, and wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, inclusive, cycloalkyl of 3 to 10 carbon atoms, inclusive, aralkyl of 7 to 12 carbon atoms, inclusive, phenyl, or phenyl substituted with 1, 2, or 3 chloro or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, inclusive, and the pharmacologically acceptable salts thereof when R.sub.1 is hydrogen. These compounds are useful as vasodepressors and antisecretory agents, and in managing cases of renal disfunction.
