ABSTRACT:
An arrester is provided in a staggered stack of two columns of elements alternately disposed at substantially 90.degree. with respect to each other in successive levels of the columns. Plates of conductive material are at the ends of the stack and between successive levels for electrically and mechanically securing arrester elements thereon with auxiliary capacitors and resistors located between selected plates.
