ABSTRACT:
Indoaniline having the formula ##SPC1##
Wherein Z represents amino, acylamino or hydroxy; R.sub.5, R.sub.6 and R.sub.7 each independently represent hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy; R.sub.8 and R.sub.9 each independently represent hydrogen, lower alkyl or lower alkyl substituted with hydroxy, carbamoyl, acylamino or piperidinyl, R.sub.8 and R.sub.5 or R.sub.9 and R.sub.6 being able to form with the adjacent nitrogen and carbon atoms a dihydrooxazine or pyrroline heterocycle; and the salts formed by these indoanilines with an organic or inorganic acid, and the double zinc salts of these indoanilines, and the tautomers thereof. These indoanilines are usefully employed for dyeing keratinous fibers, and in particular, human hair.
