ABSTRACT:
The invention comprises a substances or plurality of substances extracted from the seeds of buffalo grass, Buchloe dactyloides. The crude extract was found to comprise one or a plurality of substances having molecular weights of less than 20 kDa which are natural insecticides against corn rootworm. Bioassays show corn rootworm mortality of up to 100% when larvae are fed a diet containing crude or purified buffalo grass extract.
