ABSTRACT:
.omega.,.omega.' -BIS(2,4-DIOXOTETRAHYDROPYRIMIDINYL-5-SULPHONOAMIDO)DIARYLSULPHONES HAVING THE GENERAL FORMULA ##SPC1##
Where R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 are hydrogen or at least one of the R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 is alkyl if A is phenylene.
The method for preparing .omega.,.omega.' bis(2,4-dioxotetrahydropyrimidinyl-5-sulphonoamido)-diaryl- and -dialkylsulphones comprising reacting sulphochlorides having the general formula ##SPC2##
Where R.sub.1, R.sub.2, and R.sub.3 are hydrogen, or at least one of them is alkyl, with .omega.,.omega.'-diaminodiaryl- or -dialkylsulphones having the general formula ##EQU1## where R.sub.4 is hydrogen or alkyl, A is phenylene or alkylene, in an organic solvent medium in the presence of an organic base which binds the evolving hydrogen chloride, at a temperature of from 20.degree.- 100.degree.C, and finally isolating the end product.
