ABSTRACT:
A process for the preparation of trans-2,2-di-methyl-3-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid of the formula (I) ##STR1## comprising reacting a chloroketone of the formula (II) ##STR2## in which Z represents chlorine or bromine,
with an aqueous solution of an alkali metal hydroxide.
