ABSTRACT:
The invention provides an improved method for obtaining optically active amines, carbamates, and isocyanates by thermal fragmentation of optically active ureas through refluxing the ureas in C.sub.3 -C.sub.7 alcohol solution with or without catalytic amounts of alkali metal.
