ABSTRACT:
A process for producing 3,3,7-trimethyl-2,9-dioxatricyclo[3.3.1.0.sup.4,7 ]nonane useful as an insect pheromone and having the formula, ##STR1## which comprises reducing 1,5,5-trimethyl-7-endo-tert-butyldimethylsilyloxy-4-oxabicyclo[4.2.0]octan -3-one with diisobutylaluminum hydride, and treating with an acid, after desilylation.
