ABSTRACT:
Phenolic compounds and methods of producing such phenolic compounds are disclosed, said compounds being of the formula: ##STR1## wherein n' is an integer from 1 to 3, and R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an acyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms.
These compounds are suitable as stabilizers for synthetic resins with at least one sulfur compound of the following formulas: ##STR2## wherein R.sub.2 is an alkyl group having 4 to 20 carbon atoms, and ##STR3## wherein R.sub.3 is an alkyl group having 3 to 18 carbon atoms, and R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 each independently is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms,
in the ratio (I):(II) of 1:0.5-15 by weight.
