ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to improved liquid quaternary ammonium compositions obtained by quaternizing a mixture of amines with essentially a stoichiometric amount of a di(C.sub.1-4 alkyl)sulfate, said amine mixture containing 80 to 99.5 weight percent of an alkoxylated ether amine of the formula ##STR1## where R is an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, R' is hydrogen or methyl and x and y are integers from 1 to 20, and 0.5 to 20 weight percent of a trialkanolamine of the formula ##STR2## where z is an integer from 1 to 6. The quaternary ammonium compositions are useful as antistatic agents for a variety of synthetic fibers, yarns and fabrics.
