ABSTRACT:
A method for strengthening a sodium lime silicate type glass body by substituting potassium ions for sodium ions in a surface layer of glass by spraying an aqueous solution of potassium ions and from 1 to 6 weight percent of sodium ions upon the glass at a temperature of from about 200.degree. C. to just below the annealing point of the glass.
