ABSTRACT:
A process is provided for hydrodealkylation of alkylaromatic hydrocarbons to produce benzene or BTX over catalyst comprising a particular metal and a synthetic zeolite, said zeloite characterized by an X-ray diffraction pattern including interplanar d-spacings at 12.36.+-.0.4, 11.03.+-.0.2, 8.83.+-.0.14, 6.18--0.12, 6.00.+-.0.10, 4.06.+-.0.07, 3.91.+-.0.07 and 3.42.+-.0.06 Angstroms.
