ABSTRACT:
A silver halide photographic material which comprises a support having thereon at least one hydrophilic colloid layer being a silver halide photographic emulsion layer, and at least one hydrophilic colloid layer containing a compound represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 both represent a hydrogen atom, or one of A.sub.1 and A.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom and the other is a sulfonyl group or an acyl group; R.sub.1 represents an aliphatic group or an aromatic group; G.sub.1 represents a carbonyl group, a sulfonyl group, a sulfinyl group, a sulfoxy group, a group of ##STR2## wherein R.sub.2 is an alkoxy group or an aryloxy group, a group of ##STR3## or an iminomethylene group; X.sub.1 represents a residue of a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; and at least one of R.sub.1 and X.sub.1 having an adsorption-accelerating group on silver halide.
