ABSTRACT:
Process for the preparation of esters of carboxylic acids by contacting an olefinically unsaturated compound with CO and an alcohol, in the presence of (a) a ruthenium compound and (b) an iodide salt, LiBr and/or an onium bromide, with a molar ratio of CO to olefinically unsaturated compound.ltoreq.2.0 being applied when "b" is an iodide salt.
