ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a silver halide photographic element comprising a silver halide emulsion precipitated and/or chemically sensitized in the presence of an sulfenimide compound represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein M represents the atoms necessary to form, with R.sup.1 and R.sup.2, a five or six-membered ring or a multiple ring system; w is 1 or 0, wherein when w is 0, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic groups, and when w is 1, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are independently carbonyl or sulfonyl groups; R.sup.3 is independently a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic, aromatic or heterocyclic group and x is 0 or 1.
