ABSTRACT:
This invention relates to a fixing device including a pair of rotary members for pinching and transporting therebetween a recording material bearing an unfixed image, thereby fixing the unfixed image, and applicator means for applying releasing agent onto at least one of the paired rotary members. When the recording material is a resinous recording material, the applicator means is adapted to apply the releasing agent excluding a portion of the rotary member corresponding to the leading end portion of the recording material.
