ABSTRACT:
This invention discloses a method and compositions for regulating the growth and development of plants, especially for thinning out blossom and young fruits, for promoting and facilitating fruit abscissin and for accelerating and regulating fruit ripening, by means of N-phenyl-maleic-acid-amides of formula ##STR1## or salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 independently of one another are hydrogen, halogen, or alkyl having 1-4 carbon atoms.
