A batchwise process for dyeing hydrophobic fibres at 110.degree. C. to 135.degree. C. with a disperse dye in the presence of an adduct of an average of 1 to 4 molar proportions of ethylene oxide, propylene oxide or styrene oxide or a combination of these oxides with 1 molar proportion of a phenol compound having the formula ##STR1## in which n is a number from 1 to 4,
