ABSTRACT:
The compounds of the present invention are useful intermediates for the manufacture of 3,5-dihydroxy-2-(.omega.-halo-3-hydroxy-1-alkenyl)cyclopentane-1-heptanoic acids and derivatives thereof. The latter compounds display valuable pharmacological properties, e.g. anti-fertility, bronchodilating, anti-secretory, smooth muscle stimulator and blood platelet aggregation-inhibiting.
