ABSTRACT:
Novel crosslinkable transparent polyamides are described which are obtained by the condensation of diamines of the formula ##STR1## with aromatic and/or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids or amide-forming derivatives thereof, preferably in the presence of an inorganic or organic phosphorus compound as an accelerator. In the formula, R.sub.1 to R.sub.4 are defined as in patent claim 1. The novel polyamides are suitable for the production of solvent-resistant coatings on various substrates, for the production of images under the action of light, in particular when mixed with polythiols and photoinitiators or photosensitizers, or for the production of transparent mouldings.
