ABSTRACT:
A semiconductor memory includes a main PROM for storing main data, a error correcting PROM for storing correcting data, a error correcting circuit for correcting the main data with the correcting data, and control register for supplying a control signal to the error correcting circuit. An error correction of the correcting circuit is halted during the debugging of a program by the control signal of "invalid".
