ABSTRACT:
Chromogenic quinazolines of the formula ##STR1## wherein Y is an amino-substituted phenyl radical of the formula ##STR2## or a 3-carbazolyl radical of the formula ##STR3## and Z is hydrogen, R.sub.1, --OR.sub.1 ', --SR.sub.1 ' or --NR.sub.2 R.sub.3,
These compounds are particularly suitable for use as color formers in pressure-sensitive or heat-sensitive recording materials and give lightfast yellow, orange and red colorations.
