ABSTRACT:
A receptacle terminal having a receptacle end for receiving a pin terminal, the receptacle end including a body portion from which opposed contact walls extend between similarly extending strut walls, the walls forming a forwardly disposed shroud portion where the contact walls are connected to adjacent strut walls. A cantilevered contact arm for engaging the pin terminal is struck from one of the contact walls, leaving an opening therein having a tab formed along one of the strut walls. The contact wall being deformed to bring the tab over the contact arm, whereby deflection of the contact arm is opposed by the strut wall providing increased strength.
