ABSTRACT:
A saddle for a U-bolt clamp assembly is disclosed. The saddle is comprised of a single sheet metal member. The member is folded along a line to form a two-layer web portion and a pair of tubular portions. Each of the tubular portions receives a leg of a U-shaped bolt. Each tubular portion is formed of an inner layer of sheet metal which has substantially a 360.degree. circumferential extent and an outer layer bent around the inner layer and which extends around at least a 180.degree. circumferential extent. The outer layer thus serves to hold the saddle in a folded condition without the use of welds.
