ABSTRACT:
Methods for using amino acid as a directing agent in zeolite synthesis are disclosed comprising the steps of:
(a) forming a reaction mixture containing water, an alumina source, a silica source, an alkali metal oxide source, and an amino acid as an exterior directing agent; and
(b) recovering a porous inorganic solid from said reaction mixture of step (a).
