ABSTRACT:
The present invention provides a splitter module with an xDSL splitter circuit that is removably installable in a network interface device (NID) and interconnectable with a POTS module in the NID to split the POTS and xDSL signal onto separate inside wire pairs terminated in the NID. The splitter module has a jack and a plug. The plug from the POTS module is inserted in the jack on the splitter module and the plug on the splitter module is then inserted into the jack on the POTS module. This exchange of plugs and jacks place a splitter circuit between the outside plant wiring and the pairs of inside wiring.
