ABSTRACT:
An X-ray generator1includes an X-ray tube11having a cathode portion16, a grid electrode15and a target22, a voltage controller27and32for controlling voltages to be applied to the cathode portion16and the grid electrode15, and switches33and34for operating ON and OFF of the X-ray generator1and of X-ray emission. The voltage controller27and32, based on an ON-signal for the X-ray generator1and an OFF-signal for the X-ray emission, applies a positive standby voltage Vf1to the cathode portion16and applies a negative cutoff voltage Vc1to the grid electrode15.
