ABSTRACT:
An X-ray examination apparatus comprises a mobile base on which a table top is also mounted. An X-ray source and detector are secured to the base on a pivotal support. For transporting the X-ray examination apparatus, the support is rotated through 90.degree. with respect to the base, so that the overall width of the apparatus does not exceed the wheelbase of the base. A radiation shielding control console is secured to the wheelbase base so that it can be swung aside.
