ABSTRACT:
A write data compensating circuit in a magnetic recorder which includes a shifting circuit for shifting binary data in time series and producing front, present and rear signals based on the binary data, and a combination logic circuit for effecting a preshift to the present signal, which is provided as write data, in accordance with the pattern of the front, present and rear signals. The combination logic circuit includes a first circuit to determine the distance between every two adjacent inversions of magnetization which will be created by the write data and a second circuit to adjust each pulse width in the write data based on the analysis of the first circuit.
