ABSTRACT:
A method is provided for healing chronic wounds in a subject, particularly wounds which exhibit poor vascularization and sensory loss. The treatment method involves administering a therapeutically effective amount of .beta.-NGF to the subject to heal the wound. Compositions containing .beta.-NGF for use in the wound healing methods are provided.
