A wheeled platform100is disclosed, which is characterized by high mobility and reliability, and which can be used in a wide range of applications including transport and robotic devices. The wheeled platform100has fore and aft body portions130, 132, each body portion130, 132having first and second sides106, 108. Overlapping wheels112, 114, 116, 118are rotatably attached to the first side106and overlapping wheels120, 122, 124, 126are rotatably attached to the second side108. The fore body portion130can be connected to the aft body portion132via an articulation element133.
