ABSTRACT:
Wet refuse together with some amount of water may be deposited through a drain port of a sink tub in a common household. The wet refuse is then comminuted into finely divided pieces in a fully automatic manner by a wet refuse crusher without the need for any manual operation, and charged, together with water, into a wet refuse disposer containing a bed or matrix of particulate material loaded with microorganism such as soil bacteria capable of decomposing organics where all of the wet refuse is decomposed and consumed in at most about half a day as the finely divided pieces of wet refuse have tens or hundreds of times as great surface area as the wet refuse in its original form. The water entrained with the wet refuse is passed and discharged through the particulate bed material having a filtering function.
