ABSTRACT:
Embodied herein is a perforating gun wall that withstands short, high energy pulses of an explosion retained within a loading tube with numerous explosive shaped charges. The perforating gun wall includes two or more layers with an impact strength sufficient to maintain the structural integrity of the gun wall without splitting due to the explosion. Each layer is sleeved within the preceding layer forming a sleeved assembly. One or more of the inner layers includes one or more holes aligned with one or more explosive shaped charges. Each layer comprise a defined material property that reduces occurrences of catastrophic failure.
